About Mindful Therapy
Mindful Therapy was born out of a straightforward but deeply held conviction — that access to compassionate, culturally informed psychotherapy should not depend on where you live, what language you grew up speaking, or how much money you have in your bank account.
"We live in one of the most diverse corners of the world. The care available here should reflect that — not just in language, but in genuine understanding."
Founded in Mississauga, Ontario, Mindful Therapy was established with the communities of the Peel Region — Mississauga and Brampton — and neighbouring Etobicoke at its heart. Mississauga is home to people from over 175 countries, carrying with them distinct histories, values, and ways of understanding themselves and the world. We believe mental health care should meet people within that reality — not ask them to step outside of it.
Our registered psychotherapists offer individual and couples therapy using CBT and DBT, with support for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and more — in English, Hindi, and Urdu. You can meet our therapists to find someone who feels like the right fit.
From the very beginning, every clinical decision, every hiring choice, and every fee structure has been shaped by one question: does this make it easier for someone who needs help to actually get it? That question still guides everything we do.
Built in and for one of Canada's most culturally rich cities — a practice that grew from the Peel Region community it serves, not one that arrived from outside it.
Every therapist at Mindful Therapy was selected not only for their clinical credentials but for the depth of understanding they bring — professionally and personally — to the work.
All sessions are delivered securely online — so whether you're in Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke, or anywhere else in Ontario, you can access the care you need from home.
Why Mindful Therapy
We're not just another psychotherapy clinic. As an online therapy practice serving Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke, and all of Ontario, every decision we make — from how we hire to how we structure our fees to who we welcome — reflects a commitment to genuine, accessible, culturally grounded care.
Our team was built intentionally. Every therapist brings genuine cultural understanding, clinical training, and lived experience that matters — with sessions available in English, Hindi, and Urdu.
Virtual sessions from anywhere in Ontario, with evening and weekend availability. Online therapy that fits your life, not the other way around.
Safety, trust, and pacing aren't added later — they're embedded in how we work from the first contact through every session.
Every therapist is a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, with ongoing clinical supervision and training.
Clear rates, no hidden fees, and insurance-eligible receipts for every session. Accessible options available for everyone.
If it's not the right fit, we help you find someone else at no extra cost. The therapeutic relationship is everything.
Culturally Grounded Therapy
Mississauga is not a backdrop for this practice — it is the reason it exists in the form it does. When you are surrounded by people navigating multiple cultures, intergenerational migration, identity in flux, and systems not built with them in mind, you understand that therapy cannot be one-size-fits-all. It has to be as nuanced as the people it serves. Our therapists were chosen because they bring that understanding into the room — not as a credential, but as lived experience.
The weight of family expectation, the silence around emotional struggle, holding two cultural identities at once — our therapists understand this as lived reality, not something to be explained to them. Sessions are available in Hindi and Urdu, and never require you to justify your context first.
Queerness and transness are not things to work through — they are you. Our affirming therapists offer genuine understanding and fluency, meeting your identity with the respect it deserves from the very first session.
Rebuilding a life in a new country while grieving the one you left is profoundly complex. Our therapists bring genuine understanding of displacement and acculturation, without reducing it to a list of stressors to manage.
The toll of navigating racism and systemic exclusion is real and deserves serious care. Our therapists work within that context, not asking you to set it aside — because it is part of the whole person.
